Fermentate from primary fermenters passes through a special device, which will mechanically decompose all undecomposed parts (mainly lignin), and at the same time inoculates biological substances supporting optimum decomposition of lignin. The fermentate treated in the aforementioned way is delivered to the secondary fermenter. The secondary fermenter produces 20% more gas than usual thanks to this device.

The conversion of the overall importance of this device is not easy. We have confirmed through experiments if the device is attached to an existing 1 MW biogas station, the performance of cogeneration units is increased appreciably, or the needed daily dose biomass decrease by 10-15% and mixing time in the fermenters is reduced by up to 30%.

The only disadvantage of of this special device is its own consumption. But it is only 1.5% of the total consumption of the entire biogas plant, which is still a very good investment after conversion compared to 15% reduction in the volume of daily dosing.
